About

traffic jam galleries is dedicated to the exhibition of work by contemporary Artists. Our aim is to bring new, fresh, dynamic and highly desirable art to Sydney.

The gallery is housed on the street level of what was, in a previous life, a busy call centre in a part of a small office building in Neutral Bay.

Purposefully converted the gallery area has been pared back to bare concrete and areas of render removed. The concrete 3.2m ceilings are exposed as are all the utilities. The gallery has a wonderfully inviting raw feel to it, married with its use of unassuming state of the art technology and very 'green' fixtures and fittings.

At the gallery's heart is the wish to unearth and represent a select group of predominantly interstate and international contemporary Artists. In doing so our focus is to present these Artists works in an ever changing environment that is thought provoking, sometimes surprising, maybe challenging, but most importantly enjoyable and comfortable.

Those represented range from emerging, mid career and established artists, through to the works of a number of Australia’s elite secondary market artists.

The gallery represents these Artists with a diverse range of thematic and solo exhibitions that run concurrently with ongoing mixed exhibitions. Whilst a solo exhibition is being shown, all of the remaining artists will have works on view in the adjoining mixed exhibition space. Adjacent to this space is as an extensive stockroom of moveable display racks on a suspended track system open to all to roll out and view.

The mixed exhibition area and stockroom is supported by the gallery's website that is accessible by a user friendly touch screen computer, providing additional images, comprehensive information on each artist, including Artist statements, biographies, CV's and up to date news and events.

traffic jam galleries can be found on Facebook, LinkedIn, Flickr and Twitter, where we will regularly note the arrival of new artworks, exhibition openings, gallery events and updates on the achievements of our artists.

The focus is to enjoy!
